I definitely feel like the fact the original ninja aren’t shown much and the fact that they’re not together is one of the main reasons it feels weird.  Another thing I think makes this season feel weird, and, frankly, I don’t like this either, is the way the writers seem to push the ‘new’ characters too much into the spotlight.
