Since this group is about extreme metal, I believe that the best starting point to enjoy some of it is going with Melodic Death Metal classics, My fav band from this genre is Dark Tranquillity, and some other bands you could check out are In flames, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, At the Gates and Insomnium.
